A bigger, more open world, where navigating the landscape quickly to fulfill goals rather than "make it to the end" might be functional. In a sense I think Jak & Daxter 1 and Assassin's Creed 1 could serve as good templates to think of a new Sonic in. Level design should be focused on time trial type things without feeling like a list of time trials. It needs the creativity of a new gameplay system and a thorough Miyamoto-level upending of the tea table to work. Pinball stages can't work as an AAA game. I think to really fix Sonic they do have to cast aside the old fans (even if it's to win them back), they have to reinvent everything Sonic is and give him a new purpose. They tried speeding it up with on-rails racers which didn't work for the brand. They tried slowing it down into a "world", which didn't work for the brand. How you make a fast paced game based on fragmented level design that's mostly inspired by a pinball machine, and translate that into a modern franchise isn't an easy task. Mario has been made into a big open world exploration game, but Mario was always about slow pacing so the translation works. The Mania team understands Sonic, but the problem is what makes "old" Sonic work, is only enough for an indie game today. They should really bring Naka back into the fold, but his ideas are also dated and not much of an AAA flagship. And there's no counterpoint made by the devs because they don't really understand Sonic, themselves and don't have a vision for it. It comes out dull, uninspired and formulaic, which the business guys making the checklists actually wanted, without understanding why that can't work. Instead their product is cultivated for them by a checklist of sales points and focus tested fan picks for "important characteristics" by a board room, and the product is manufactured to specifications that meet those actionable items lists. Fri 19th Jun I think the problem is the actual creators of Sonic are long since uninvolved, and the new people don't have their own ideas of what Sonic is, and the original concepts that made Sonic work are outdated 2D concepts that don't translate into a flagship franchise of the 3D era. 1/18/2024 0 Comments Five guys take awayYou are meant to take those fries out of the bag and eat them while they are hot in all their glory and splendor. Five guys has a policy that they are not even allowed to start cooking your pre-ordered fries until you arrive because they know they will get soggy in the bag. There is simply no better chain french fry that I have found out there, but the people who are tasting soggy fries must be ordering DoorDash or not eating the fries right away. Many times I will not even use their salt, I keep my own Celtic sea salt in the car and dr. I simply put salt and pepper on the meat and it tastes absolutely delicious. The quality of five guys meat is better than any other fast food chain but you are correct that they do not salt or season the meat. The solution to this problem is really pretty simple. But I know now that Five Guys is my second choice for a "fast food" burger, my first being a local joint (but I'm pretty sure no fast food burger ever beats out mom n' pop diners for quality burgers). Maybe it's because I had to drastically change my diet for years to get my blood sugar under control and then again to lose weight. But somewhere along the way, all of that change. I'd choose an Outback Steakhouse ribeye with its 16 or 17 or however many seasonings over a supposedly fancier steakhouse with nearly unseasoned steaks. They wouldn't adequately season the steak for my tastes. I used to feel that way about a lot of steakhouses, too. Like the burger was bland and uninteresting. Maybe it's just how our taste buds change over time, because I remember some time back in the early to mid 90's feeling exactly the way you do. But the raw onion flavor with the beef for some reason just hits all the right spots for me. I get lettuce, raw onions, mayo, and mustard. I still like a well-seasoned burger, too, but the Five Guys flavor just one day hit my taste buds in a different way and made me want more. But, as I've gotten older I've really come to enjoy the pure beef flavor. Twenty years ago I'd have agreed with you. Their burgers are a solid C+ to B- dammit Is it one of those things where if you arent in a place with a strong local cuisine culture its the best place to consistently hit the burger craving? Is it one of those things where its like yes relative to the grand scheme of things it’s not world class but it’s for many people a treat because of cost / availability of local restaurants ? Someone needs to resolve this most pressing mystery of our time. Its goddamn inexplicable and I cant take it anymore. I am the only one who is willing to make my voice heard against the five guys hordes. I am the only one willing to take this stand. Anyone on this sub can make a wayyy tastier, heartier burger. But someone needs to explain to me how this burger can be considered objectively ‘great’. Its like the chipotle of burgers in that its just kinda-bland-but-okay “fresh” food that at least is served in a decent location and in a pinch you can get like a keto version of the food and not feel bad about yourself. Its bland and brings nothing to the table. Look, I guess they’re photogenic and like, of an overall higher quality than a really trashy pub burger or a mcdouble (which I will defend as having a time and place, dammit). I am seriously totally perplexed why this mediocre ass burger has a following. The whole thing comes together as just a mish-mash of bland ingredients. Like the meat, the cheese is somehow excruciatingly bland and does not taste like the gooey, savory hot and piping burger cheese you wantĥ. They dont have a buttery toasty crunch or that sweet potato roll smoothness.Ĥ. Their buns are solid texturally but not very flavorful. I’d prefer a good proper ketchup/mustard/relish-y burger sauce, made by the restaurant to ensure proper seasoning and proportionsģ. As for the rest of it, I don’t really like their sauces or pickles. They just shit onions on a hot griddle for 2 mins. They dont get to that delicious deep savory / sweetness. Their vegetable and topping selection is pretty good and fresh but they suck at caramelizing onions. I think they don’t season it and use a really low fat mix? Fuck that. I have to dump an entire packet of salt and pepper on that shit to get any flavor. Five guys meat is the blandest shit of all time.
1/17/2024 0 Comments Ups usps package trackingOne of these is the transit time or how long it will take for your package to reach its destination. In addition to package size and destination, there are other factors that you should consider when choosing between UPS and USPS. Factors to Consider When Deciding Between UPS and USPS However, USPS does offer Priority Mail, which can be a faster option for domestic shipments. UPS generally offers faster delivery options, such as next-day or two-day shipping, while USPS may take longer for standard delivery. However, if most of your shipments are within the US, USPS may be more affordable and convenient.Īnother important factor to consider is the speed of delivery. If you are shipping internationally, UPS may be a better choice, as it offers a wider range of international shipping services. You should also consider the destination of your packages. However, if you are shipping small packages or envelopes, USPS may be a more affordable option. If you have large or heavy items, UPS may be a better choice, as it offers freight and LTL (less than truckload) shipping options. First, think about the size and weight of your packages and what delivery options you need. When deciding between UPS and USPS, there are several factors to consider. How to Choose Between UPS and USPS for Your Business USPS also offers international shipping services, allowing you to send packages and mail to over 190 countries around the world. Additionally, it offers a variety of additional services, such as insurance and certified mail, for an additional fee.Īnother advantage of using USPS is its extensive network of post offices and mailboxes, making it easy to drop off packages and mail at a convenient location. USPS also provides free delivery confirmation and tracking for most services. One of the benefits of using USPS is that it offers flat-rate shipping, which can be a great option for heavier items. It also provides a wide range of delivery options, including First-Class Mail, Priority Mail, and Priority Mail Express. USPS, on the other hand, is a government-run postal service that offers affordable shipping rates for all types of mail and packages. Why USPS May Be the Best Option for Your Shipping Needs Additionally, UPS offers a carbon neutral shipping option, where customers can offset the carbon emissions of their package delivery by contributing to environmental projects. The company has set a goal to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 12% by 2025 and has invested in alternative fuel vehicles and renewable energy sources. However, UPS has implemented several sustainability initiatives in recent years, which may be a deciding factor for environmentally conscious customers. UPS also charges additional fees for certain services, such as residential delivery or signature confirmation. One of the downsides of using UPS is that its shipping rates can be higher than other carriers, especially for heavier items. Customers can also track their packages in real-time through the UPS website or mobile app. It offers a variety of delivery options, including ground, air, and international shipping. UPS is known for its reliability, speed, and extensive range of shipping services. The Pros and Cons of Using UPS for Shipping In this article, we will explore the key factors that can help you decide which one is better suited for your shipping needs. Two of the most popular options are UPS and USPS. When it comes to shipping your products, choosing the right carrier can be a crucial decision for your business. 1/17/2024 0 Comments Crazy aaron s thinking puttyThinking Putty® helps build hand and finger strength through a fabulous tactile play experience with unique, unexpected properties and provides relaxing, yet stimulating interaction.Ĭrazy Aaron's putty is non-toxic, won't dry out, and won't leave a sticky or slippery residue on your fingers. (Yes, that many!) In the USA, the average tuition and fees for undergraduate architecture programs, where public and private tuition costs are combined, go from $19,791 a year (in which in-state schools are included) to $26,252 a year (where out-of-state tuition for public schools is counted). This has now gone up to £100,000, according to a recent report by UK Architectural Education Review Group. Although architects are looked upon with respect, and architecture is considered to be the ‘sexiest’ profession the sad truth is that completing a degree in architecture takes too long and costs quite a hefty sum.Īn independent survey conducted by ZAP architecture, UK, in the year 2011 revealed an estimated average cost of £88,726 for an architectural education post 2011. Little has changed in repute or reality over the years for this once upon a time considered ‘gentleman’s profession’. “The first rule of Architecture is to be born rich, the second rule is, failing that, to marry wealthy“- Philip JohnsonĪlthough intended to be light hearted, this quote succeeds in painting a grim picture, which any recent or current student of architecture would be easily able to identify with. The egg tart I had from Lillian’s in Shanghai was better than the egg tarts I tried from Tai Cheong and Honolulu Coffee Shop. I’ll be honest, I was disappointed with egg tarts in Hong Kong. I’m not sure they’re the best scrambled eggs I’ve had (that distinction probably still lies with Gartine in Amsterdam), but the food was tasty, and it feels like you’re part of Hong Kong’s bustle when you’re squished into your table with people running around, sharing a table with strangers. They’re known for their scrambled eggs and egg custards. Scrambled eggs and egg custard from Australia Dairy Company They even have English menus (or they at least have one), but it might take a while to get to you. There are hordes of people inside and out and tons of workers moving people quickly through the restaurant. If you want an authentic dining experience in Hong Kong, brave the lines and eat at Australia Dairy Company (don’t worry, the lines move quickly). Joy Hing’s BBQ pork on rice Joy Hing kitchenĪ similar place that I enjoyed was Yat Lok, although I missed out on the roast goose because I was there too early, but my bowl of noodles was just simple and tasty. Get a plate of whatever meat you want on top of rice (the recommendation being BBQ pork, of course), pour the special sauce on top, and enjoy. This place isn’t fancy and it’s crowded and busy and you won’t have enough space and there’s no English, but it’s good food (and it’s cheap). This was another place recommended by a friend, and I really enjoyed the simplicity of good BBQ pork on top of a bed of rice. Coupled with relatively high prices (my food was ~$50 for not that much actual food, and it’s Hong Kong, where you can get a meal for <$5), it’s not a place that I’d highly recommend, but it’s worth trying. Flavorful, yes, but interesting, not really. In particular, the most lauded dishes of sweet corn tempura, meatball, and KFC were all pretty one-note. Chicken hearts at YardbirdĪll of the food was flavorful, but I got a little bored with some of the flavor profiles quickly. I had the waiter order for me, and I ended up trying the eggplant salad, sweet corn tempura, meatball, heart, rib, and korean fried cauliflower. It’s a yakitori place, so think skewers of chicken. This restaurant is a restaurant that I’d expect to find in a place like San Francisco or New York: much of the waitstaff is not Chinese, menus are completely in English, and prices are high. As such, it’s pretty popular and waits can be quite long, so plan to get there early. This place was recommended to me by a friend, and it was also mentioned in the NYTimes somewhat recently. For what it’s worth, I was seated immediately at Tim Ho Wan, although I went relatively early in the morning. I definitely wouldn’t wait more than half an hour to eat at any of these places. Other items that I tried included turnip cake, sponge cake, and rice noodle rolls, but none of the other items that I tried were that much better than what I’ve had elsewhere. It does get a little too sweet-on-sweet for me, as the bun is quite sweet and the filling is also sweet so it gets to be almost cloying. Rather than the steamed or baked versions that are common in the US, these have a sort of snowball-fried-sweet top, and it’s unlike anything I’ve ever had before. The best item was (of course) the BBQ pork buns at Tim Ho Wan (Dim Sum Square had a very similar version). All were good and cheap and better than anything that I’d had in the US, but I wouldn’t say any of them was phenomenal or a must-eat, and I still can’t believe that Tim Ho Wan and One Dim Sum have Michelin stars. I went to the Tim Ho Wan in Sham Shui Po, One Dim Sum near Prince Edward MTR, and Dim Sum Square in Sheung Wan for dim sum during my stay. Tsui Wah is a chain of restaurants that are essentially diners, so they’re popular with the drunk crowd late at night (the location that I went to in Central is open 24 hours). You’re not going to find anything gourmet here, but I do think it’s an interesting experience, especially if you come at 4:30am as I did on my first jetlagged morning in Hong Kong. Here’s a sampling of things that I ate in Hong Kong. (2) Rarely this pattern is seen in atrial septal defects or pulmonary disease with increased right-sided heart pressures. Nonspecific Intraventricular Conduction Delay (NS IVCD)Ī nonspecific intraventricular conduction delay (IVCD) is a slowing of conduction through the myocardium, that does not meet the criteria of a right or left bundle branch block. In this article, I’ll review multiple common, but puzzling ECG findings, and explain what they mean and what can be done about them. You look at an electrocardiogram (ECG) and it says “ rSR prime in lead V1 or V2” or “borderline left axis deviation.” What does that mean and what do you do? You’re not alone! Online consumers are using social media more frequently before making the purchase decisions. People are good about sharing the image, but not including the link, so you need to include the URL so readers can find the original on the TitleMax website.Social media has become an important part of online marketing. I also say this about a lot of infographics: you need to include the URL of the original infographic landing page in the infographic itself. This topic just doesn’t have anything to do with their business. My biggest question comes down to why is TitleMax doing this infographic in the first place? I don’t understand how this helps the SEO for TitleMax’s website, marketing or their brand equity. At the highest resolution, the smallest text is still pixelated and unreadable. The large image size infographic needs to be even higher resolution. Don’t let the software change the corner radius for each different shape. Also, be consistent with the corner rounding. Some explanation is needed.Ĭhoose rounded or square shapes and stick with it. Some of them are here, like ESPN and Hulu, but many more of these companies have logos that would have been appropriate to use. These are fairly random shapes and direction of company groupings. Organization inside the Mickey shape needs some help. People have a hard time visually comparing circle sizes.Īnother problem with changing the circle sizes is that readers perceive that to have meaning, like the size of these companies, which isn’t true in this case. Better use a a font size hierarchy and the line weight and size of the circles isn’t clear enough. I get that complicated is part of the story here, but there needs to be a better hierarchy of parents to subsidiaries. I actually like their use of the Mickey shape, with Marvel and Fox as the smaller ears. This is a large, complicated design, and I think it’s worth some discussion. Massive corporations may be too big to grasp sometimes, but this huge list of assets of the Walt Disney Corporation can help media consumers untangle the great network of the mouse.
